Science: Daily and Seasonal Cycles

Today we observed the world around us as scientists! We recorded our observations in our field notebooks. Next week we will discuss our observations and determine some further questions for inquiry learning.

Take a look at some of the things we saw today!

We noticed that the leaves near the fence, at the top of the hill, were crunchy. The leaves at the bottom of the hill were not.

"Maybe the sun is heating them up." - A.K.

We observed some trees that were not losing their leaves.

"We should call them 'alwaysgreens' instead of evergreens!" - C.S.

We recorded the different colours that leaves turn in the autumn. We wondered why different trees turn different colours.

Some trees had lost all of their leaves while others still had most of them. We wondered why some trees lost their leaves so quickly!
