How big is your shoe?

Today we had a surprise letter pop up in our classroom! We were so excited to investigate the question that was posed to us inside the letter.

The question: Who has the biggest shoe?

Students debated about possible ways to measure their shoes and off they went. We quickly noticed a problem - the measurements that we had did not allow us to compare the size of our shoes!

After some further debate, students decided that everyone needed to use the same unit to be able to compare measurements. They decided to use snap cubes. Everyone also determined the importance of measuring with a unit that is equal in size.

We are so excited to learn more about measurement and to gain more clues to determine the secret surprise!
