Thank you for coming to Meet the Teacher Night!

Wow! What an amazing turnout! Ms. Gray and I were so impressed to see so many families visiting our classrooms! Our students did an incredible job showing their parents and siblings their work, reading stories, and making everyone feel welcome!



Here are some key points from the evening:

Grading

         The letter your child receives corresponds to the level of their work, based on standards from the Ministry of Education. 

Level or Letter Grade
What it means
1 or D
With assistance, a few simple ideas, rarely accurate, with major errors/omissions
2 or C
With limited assistance, frequently accurate, use of appropriate strategies, with several errors or omissions
3 or B
Independently, clearly and precisely, consistently, general understanding, appropriate and logical, with few errors or omissions, usually accurate
4 or A
Independently, using complex ideas, clearly and precisely, confidently, thorough understanding, appropriate and logical, with practically no errors or omissions, almost always accurate

Term 1 Themes:

September - October: Be proud of your choices! (Social Studies: Relationships, Rules, and Responsibilities)
October - November: How are we affected by the changes around us? (Science: Daily and Seasonal Cycles)
December: How can we make a difference? (Media)
January - February: What do I discover when I look closely? (Science: Needs and Characteristics of Living Things)
