How many extra desks do we have?

Today our class decided to figure out how many extra desks are in our classroom. We used lots of strategies to figure this out! Many students were able to figure out the correct answer but had difficulty showing their thinking on paper. We will be learning how to use pictures, numbers, and words to show our ideas in a clear way this year.
